kit be knitting
CURRENT PROJECT: boatneck jumper thingySTARTED: 6/04/20
TECHNIQUES: stockinette, increases, blocking, mattress stitch
DIFFICULTY: 2/5, more patience than challenge
PATTERN: cropped boatneck sweater
this jumper was knit on aluminium circular needles and will be assembled with a darning needle of the same material. it was knit pretty much daily (hopefully,) and is composed of acrylic aran weight yarn. it will probably have cost about £4 in materials, but much, much more in labour. no, i am not a yarn elitist. no, i have not knit with any natural fiber that isn't cotton. it's soft, anyhow.

currently i've spent at least 7 hours working on one sleeve and the front panel of this thing. it's decent (it isn't knit in the round) which makes me not hate it and i progress fairly quickly if i black out and listen to my liked songs on spotify. tracking the increase is enough of a challenge for me, someone with memory problems.

8/04/20 @ 9:55 PM: i've had to frog the ribbing on the front panel at least three times in the last hour. i can't count and i messed up 1x1 rib- it's not hard, it just takes forever. one sleeve took 'one-and-a-little' skeins of my aran yarn, but i'm not knitting with larger needles so i'm not surprised. i will publish the alterations i've made as soon as i can- i like the cuffs to sit a little higher on my wrists so i added like another inch (i was planning on doing 4in extra on the sleeves but i want to make the pannels full-length and because of quarantine i can't get any more of this yarn) so i guess that's okay. as soon as a pattern demands more than 40 stitches at cast on (not including later increases) my brain fucks right up. i like this pattern, though. i will keep you updated. it's harrowing. scroll down for my alterations/notes!
